Terms and conditions
Rules for using the Jigsaw Adoption website.
These terms govern your use of the Jigsaw Adoption website at jigsawadoption.org.uk. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.
This page covers website use. How we handle personal data is covered separately by our privacy policy.

Using this website
You're welcome to read the content on this site, share links to it, and use it for personal or educational purposes.
Please don't:
- attempt to disrupt the site or its underlying systems
- copy substantial portions of our content for commercial use or republication without asking us first
- use automated tools to scrape, mirror, or crawl the site at a rate that interferes with normal use
- impersonate Jigsaw Adoption or misrepresent the site as your own
The content on this site
We write about adoption in good faith and aim to keep our content accurate and up to date. But adoption law, agency practice, and individual circumstances change. Nothing on this website is a substitute for personalised advice from a qualified adoption professional. If you're thinking about adopting, please get in touch so we can talk about your situation.
Our content — including the text, images, design, and structure of this site — belongs to Jigsaw Adoption unless we've credited it to someone else. Adopter stories, testimonials, and quotes are published with permission from the people involved.
External links
We sometimes link to other websites — government resources, other adoption charities, professional bodies, news articles. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for their content, accuracy, or how they handle your data. If you follow an external link, the other site's terms and privacy policy apply.
Cookies and analytics
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device.
This website uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our pages — which content is read most, how people arrive at the site, where they get stuck. These services help us improve the site over time. Microsoft Clarity also records anonymous session activity (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) so we can see how people navigate the site.
We also run Google Ads campaigns to reach people who might be considering adoption. If you arrive at this site from one of our ads and later get in touch, a Google Ads conversion cookie tells Google that the ad worked. This helps us understand which ads are worth the money. We don't build profiles of individual visitors and we don't run retargeting campaigns.
These services set cookies on your device and process information about your visit. They don't identify you to us, and we don't share visitor data with anyone beyond these analytics and ad-measurement providers.
If you log in to the admin area of this site (which is only relevant to Jigsaw staff), a session cookie is set to keep you logged in. This is strictly necessary for the admin area to work.
If you'd prefer not to be tracked, you have a few options:
- Most browsers have a private or incognito window that blocks third-party cookies and analytics
- The Mullvad, Brave, and Tor browsers block trackers by default
- All major browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings
- You can install a tracker-blocking extension like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger
If we ever add advertising cookies beyond the ad-measurement described above, marketing pixels, retargeting, or any other third-party tracking, we'll update this page and add a consent banner at that point.
Limits on our responsibility
We try to keep the website available and accurate, but we can't guarantee it'll always be online, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss or damage that arises from your use of (or inability to use) this website.
This doesn't limit any liability we have for things the law doesn't allow us to exclude — for example, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
